Instant Fertilizer...

"We need a miracle like that of the first Christmas of the first world war -- only it needs be deeper and more lasting. Otherwise our leaders, while saying "nobody wants war",  will take us -- not to world war three, mind you, but terrible times and ultimate endless war..."

[That is how the unknown poet of the Third Galaxy introduced one of his later sonnettes]

Since the very dawn of history,
dreams of glory violently achieved
have plagued the human race -- it's nothing new!

We fought for land, for gold, for God, for "Truth"!
Is there any cause for which we have not been bled?

If you count the "heroes, I will count the dead
and match you many more than a thousand fold!

In olden, times when slaves were sold for gold,
greed tended to temper the lust for blood, you know,
-- dead bodies are of value only to wild dogs and crows!

Today, we're supposedly civilized,
but have we really gotten all that wiser
with our bombs that can take a million lives
and turn them all into instant fertilizer?

With Cold, Incisive Rage...

With cold, incisive rage, Michael Moore has nailed the screaming, incompetent, heartless, idiotic and disastrous outrage of the mean, lowlife Repugnant senators who sank the bailout of the single most important industry in the United State of Arrogance (well, next after the weapons and pharmaceutic/narcotics industries, I suppose).

They could have given the loan on the condition that the automakers start building only cars and mass transit that reduce our dependency on oil.

They could have given the loan on the condition that the automakers build cars that reduce global warming.

They could have given the loan on the condition that the automakers withdraw their many lawsuits against state governments in their attempts to not comply with our environmental laws.

They could have given the loan on the condition that the management team which drove these once-great manufacturers into the ground resign and be replaced with a team who understands the transportation needs of the 21st century.

Read the rest here, where Moore also roasts the Bankers of Illusion (mass media) for spinning this to slime the unions, as if this was their fault!  To all of this I can only add that a strong and informed working middle class is the bulwark of democracy.

Bulimo, Bulimo...

Bulimo, Bulimo, I'm worried about ya, boy -- oops! sorry! that's a no-word, but still, I'm worried.

As I understand it, as news filters down to the Happy Little Kingdom, things are going to go forward (=backwards) in the United State of Arrogance in a manner different from that of the (thank the Great Potato) the Codpiece -- the difference being in intelligence and efficiency.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favor of intelligent efficiency -- the crux, of course, is about what does it all revolve?

As I understand from the little I can see from my little hobbit hole, you intend to combat terraism by preemptive attacks/invasions with greater effienciency than your fumblefingered predecessor.  Lots of luck with that, Bulimo, but doing a bad thing better is not a positive...

I also understand that you will not actively seek that the criminals in the (thank the Great Potato) outgoing administration be tried for their crimes against the law, the constitution and humanity.  I'm sure you have your reasons and I'm sure they are political and I'm sure they are wrong...

The bottom line is that it is now SOP in the United State of Arrogance that the chief executive is not only above, but beyond the law, that the holder of this position can do whatever he/she fuggin pleases to do...

In this context, the presidential order   whereby the chief executive can take complete control of the country, with no regard to the legislative or judicial branches of the gov't will remain in effect -- furthermore, with no protest from anywhere, at least 20,000 military soldiers will be stationed in the United State  by 2011 (5000 battle hardened troops are already there!)

I plead with you, Bulimo, I understand that you react to the political realities -- but, what you do as prez not only will mold but create the political reality and the consequences it will have for those of us who live in the real world -- I plead with you, think about the real reality in which real people live, going about their lives, trying and hoping to make a better life for their children.
