Millions of tons of trash plastic in all shapes, size, color and form floating with the currents and prevailing winds meet in a big clump of plastic soup in the northern Pacific Ocean. Killing birds and fish, originating mostly from USA, Japan and Russia.
Too spread out to collect, non-degradable, a collector of chemical
polutants from the enviroment - it will not disappear, it will grow
as long as it is fed.
The Garbage Patch - actually, patches as there are 5 ocean gyres which are collecting trash - was predicted by scientists, just like holes in the ozone layer and global climate change.
